Who is here? 2007/03/18 19:01
Since these forums are new and because most of us are scattered across the world, I thought it might be nice for everyone to know who is here. Let us know where you are from, where you go to school or where you teach, what your interests are and the like.

My name is Ricky Chilcott, I am a Junior at Ohio University in the US. I am a Music Production major, minoring in music and business. I am originally from North Royalton, OH a suburb of the Cleveland area. I am interesting in recording music, audio archival, audio post production for film, computer programming, and sound for games. I am currently working on a grant to digitize and archive the performances/concerts of School of Music students, faculty, and ensembles from the past 30 years. I also work for the School of Music as their Head Sound Engineer and I am the President of Brick City Records(www.brickcityrecords.com), Ohio Universities student-run record label.

Hope to hear about everyone!

Hi. My name is Matt Sibley. I'm a new member here. I just signed up last week. I wish I would have known about this organization sooner, nonetheless I am glad to be a part of it now!

I am a student at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA. I'm majoring in Electrical Engineering and will graduate May 2008. I've heavily involved with the mobile electronics industry. I compete in car stereo competitions nationwide in the United States Autosound Competition International organization(USACi). I also work part time at a local Car Audio shop and recently started my own company, S.P.E.A.D. LLC. I do consulting, design, and fabrication for car audio competitors in our area and have organized a team that attends most of our local and national events with me. We have a website at http://www.teamspead.net if any of you are interested in learning more about myself and the team.

I'm hoping that through this organization I can learn a lot and further my knowledge and love for audio and acoustics. I look forward to getting to know everyone!

I'm Ainslie Harris, and I've been an AES student member for...5 years now I think (wow!)

I graduated in July from the University of York (UK) with a BEng in Electronics Engineering with Music Technology Students. While there, I started the first-ever student section of the AES in the UK, and was elected to Vice Chair (and Chair) of the AES Student Delegate Assembly for Europe and International Regions.

I'm now in Scotland doing an MSc in International Marketing Management, and on Tuesday, my term as SDA Chair came to an end.

I do a variety of work here and there, and have experience in just about every branch of the media.

Check out the York AES website at www.yorkaes.org!

I know this thread was started awhile ago, but I thought it would be worthwhile to post and try to connect with some people on here.

My name is Nick Arner, and I am studying Music Technology and Computer Science at Capital University in Columbus Ohio. I am currently finishing up an eight week program at the Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, Ohio as part of my degree.

I am currently working on organizing an a Student Chapter of the AES at my University (any advice would be welcome!) I also work on the Event Staff for Capital's Conservatory, providing small scale live sound reinforcement and archival recording for student and faculty concerts.

I am interested in audio recording, surround sound, and interactive music therapy.
