Airshow Mastering, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Engineer for their Boulder studio facilities.


The primary responsibility of the Assistant Engineer is to support our five staff engineers and the studio manager with office and file management as well as the creation of production masters. Audio production work may be made available based on studio workload and skill level.


This is an entry level job. Anyone who expects to be mastering records after 6 months on the job should apply elsewhere. It is primarily a support position for 3 mastering engineers, 2 mixers, and studio manager. The job will start out part time (3 days/week) and will eventually expand into a full-time position.


Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Quality-Control engineer for all production masters
  • Maintain Airshow’s data archive
  • Assist in maintaining all Airshow databases
  • Assist in the tracking and ordering of all studio media (CD-Rs, DVD-Rs, etc.)
  • Perform general computer maintenance on office and studio workstations
  • Assist in client relations and answering the phones

Audio Engineering tasks potentially include:

  • Editing & Production work on mastering sessions
  • Assist in studio wiring, gear installation/de-installation
  • Transfers, restoration processing, quality-checks on archives, etc.

  • This position is paid hourly, and will commence with 24 hours/week schedule, with a possibility of expanding to full-time.
